Close to 40 GB of Data Hacked and Leaked from Sony Pictures Entertainment’s (SPE)
The start of the holiday turned nightmarish for SPE who was hit by a cyberattack that leaked 40 GB of data including personal information, salaries and home addresses for employees and freelancers who worked for the organization. One of the many information that got leaked was, the chairman of Sony Pictures make $12 million a year. Such and many information which should have kept under tight wraps are now leaked and public. And to add as a frosting to this entire fiasco, reportedly, Sony kept thousands of passwords in a folder named “Password”. More of this news here.

Threatening Emails for Sony Employees by Hackers
It seems that a group of hackers, who call themselves as GOP, sent emails to Sony employees. The email warned the employees that their family will be in danger. Sony has confirmed the incident, and stated that it is working with law enforcement. The group of hackers who were involved in this, is the same group who took the responsibility of the hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Read more on this here.

PayPal Account Can be Hacked with Just A Click
An Egyptian security researcher, Yasser H. Ali, demonstrated in a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) video how easily PayPal accounts can be hacked. According to Ali, PayPal website has three security vulnerabilities, which can be exploited by an attacker to take control over users’ account. This can affect 156 million PayPal users worldwide.
